It doesn’t happen very often. It is unusual; even unique. The trainers and educators at Restorative Practices in Schools seminar training have similar responses to content during the eight Saturdays do seminar training.
The room is momentarily silent as each participant contemplates the potential powerful impact of restorative practices in schools for themselves, scholars, and staff.
Favorite Training Sections

My two colleagues and I all have our much-loved sections to present during Saturday seminars. It was on a training day for Restorative Practices 201: From ACEs to PACEs: Building Restorative Relationships seminar where we experienced this moment of wonder and amazement. Almost magical possibilities come to mind for those educators implementing Restorative Practices at TK-12 public schools.
A Day in the Life of a Scholar Who is a Part of a Restorative Community
One of my favorite training sections comes from an excellent graphic shared by the San Diego County Office of Education Restorative Practices Collaborative. I use it as A Day in the Life of a Scholar Who is a Part of a Restorative Community graphic.

The above graphic is the foundation of the curriculum segment I use for introducing the eight Restorative Practices components that create A Day in the Life of a Scholar Who is a Part of a Restorative Community.
You’re probably wondering what happened that caused such awe. But due to the length of this blog post, please stay tuned for Part 2…and Part 3.
